MYTHS  OF  CREATION
14.   As Above, So Below
All in all, this sequence of events
was most often considered to be
predictably predicated
or even directly instigated by
battles among cosmic powers

—  a shifting of the bodies
moving in the heavens around the Earth
recurring over long intervals of time

—  triggered by disastrous conjunctions
among the wandering stars.

In all mythopoeic peoples’ cosmovisions
there was a long-standing commonly perceived
relationship between Astronomical
& Geophysical forces
—  in that,
every time Earth was destroyed
by earthquakes, floods & fires,
& subsequently reformed
during the chaotic aftermath,
the impulses for these great changes
always came from the skies.

The perceived kinship of Creation always
proceeded vertically
—  from top, down:
—  w/ every disaster
between astral deities
in the cosmic order above
signaling & inaugurating
parallel reformations &
new transformative developments
among the geological & ethnological
domains of life on Earth below.

—  And thus it was held then
& has been held ever since, that
a every new theophany
(or ‘appearance of the sacred’)
always brings forth
a new order of the Ages.

The overall message
—

As Above, So Below:

Astronomical events

directly effect changes

on Earth & Humankind

at periodic intervals.

— And those transformations
taken together as a whole,
from Macrocosm to Microcosm,
are precisely what once
signified the advent
& constituted the arrival of
each new Cosmic era,
World Age
& Generation of Man.
